Board Leadership Development
This challenging leadership development programme explores practical approaches to developing strategic thinking and analysis skills. It will describe how to implement a strategic management process. As a result, it helps you develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between corporate strategy and business strategy. The topics cover important subjects such as the strategic need to focus on the most important issues and, therefore, say ‘no’ to everything else, the importance of alignment and the approach of the organisation towards managing strategic risk. We explain the differences and similarities between commercial (for profit) companies, non-profit organisations and hybrids that have an important stakeholder, such as a government department and are required to also deliver an operating profit or surplus.
We explore different ways of looking at your organisation and offer a systemic view of leadership and management. As a result, you will be able to distinguish good strategy from bad, and understand the distinction between corporate and business strategy, and the associated management responsibilities.
Our evidence-based and highly practical training approach helps improve your strategic thinking ability to increase confidence in fulfilling your responsibilities in the context of your organisation’s goals and the industry it operates in. We base our course design and development on the best evidence available. For example, we use information-, demonstration-, and practice-based methods because these three methods of delivery in combination are found o be more effective than exclusive use of one, or combined use of just two methods. We also continue to offer face-to-face leadership training programs because they increase positive delegate reactions, learning, transfer, and results than virtual programs.
