Strategic Leadership Development
This challenging strategic leadership development programme explores practical approaches to developing corporate governance, strategic thinking and portfolio analysis skills. It describes how to implement, manage and govern a complete strategic management process. As a result, you develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between corporate governance, corporate strategy and business strategy. The topics cover important subjects such as the strategic need to focus on the most important issues and, therefore, say ‘no’ to everything else, the importance of alignment and the approach of the organisation towards managing strategic risk. We explain the differences and similarities between commercial (for profit) companies, non-profit organisations and hybrids that have an important stakeholder, such as a government department and are required to also deliver an operating profit or surplus.
Our Leadership Development Approach
We explore different ways of looking at your organisation and offer a systemic (big picture) view of strategic leadership and management. As a result, you will be able to distinguish good strategy from bad and understand the relationship between corporate strategy and the related business models to ensure consistency and alignment.
Our evidence-based and highly practical training approach helps improve your strategic thinking ability to increase your confidence in fulfilling your responsibilities for your organisation’s goals. We base our course design and development on the best evidence available. For example, we use three main delivery methods:
These three methods of delivery in combination are found to be more effective than the exclusive use of one, or the combined use of just two methods. We also continue to offer face-to-face leadership training programs because they are better on three key metrics compared to virtual e-learning programs:
- positive delegate reactions
- learning outcomes
- knowledge transfer
